Setting Up a Mesh in Substance Painter

Importing OBJ / FBX (new project)

  1. Open Substance Painter and select File → New
  2. In the New Project dialog, click Select… next to Mesh and browse to your OBJ or FBX file
  3. Set Document Resolution (2048 for detailed assets, 4096 for hero props)
